Speakers:
Kate Ferrel, President, Nicolet College
Kate has served Nicolet College as President since July 2021. Leading up to her presidency, Kate served the College as Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs from January 2018 to July 2021, Vice President for Student Affairs from January 2016 to January 2018, and Dean of Students from June 2014 to January 2016.
Prior to joining Nicolet College, Kate served Mid-State Technical College from 1999 to 2014 in roles that spanned student services, academics, and business and industry training. Her early career included roles in public relations, marketing, and communication.
Richard Koenings, Professor, Nicolet College
Richard is a 3-time entrepreneur, a business turnaround specialist, an entrepreneur lecturer, and a University Professor with a Law degree, an MBA in Finance and Banking, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science, History, and English.
Richard’s business experiences and accomplishments, span over 50 years. He brings a keen ability to get to and focus on material factors, critical needs, and timely solutions no matter the challenge.
He recognizes that every business and business person has strengths and weakness to work with, and every successful project requires first effort, second people, and third, cash.
Mark Speirs, Consultant, Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UW-Stevens Point
Mark Speirs works out of UW-Stevens Point where he holds the position of Small Business Development Center (SBDC) business consultant. The SBDC at UW-Stevens Point is part of a statewide business technical assistance program that supports entrepreneurs and business owners through no cost, confidential, and targeted consulting and educational programs.
