Dear Friend of the VCEDC,
The Vilas County EDC has done so much to give us a reason to believe we can do this, we can grow our business. They’ve provided us with the data and guidance to move forward. -Patrick Indermuehle, Conover Gardens
You are the reason Patrick and Robin Indermuehle of Conover Gardens feel like they can meet the challenges of running and growing their business.
At the VCEDC, our mission is to grow a strong, diverse economy here in Vilas County, and it’s donors like you who make this work possible.
You make it possible for Patrick and Robin – and dozens of other local small business owners – to get the practical no-cost business guidance, education, and networking opportunities they need to succeed in Vilas County. And you make it possible for the VCEDC to do the broader economic development work that sets our county up for long- term, sustainable prosperity.
Today, I’m writing to our valued partners to share how we’ve been working to fulfill our mission in 2024 and to invite you to invest in this work in 2025.
Here’s a peek at what we’ve done in 2024:
- Reached 86% of Vilas County covered by broadband or with a broadband project underway – up from only 5% in 2020!
- Lead the bluff redevelopment project in the Town of Phelps. The VCEDC is working with key stakeholders to create a plan for the property and to secure funding for demolition, architectural designs, and construction.
- Delivered high-quality no-cost educational, consulting, and networking opportunities to over 300 local small business owners and entrepreneurs.
What does our work mean for you and Vilas County?
- Jobs retained and created
- More local spending
- Support for the businesses you know and love
- Increased tax base
- Higher real estate values
- More new businesses
Can we count on you to invest in our work as 2024 comes to a close? Your year-end gift will be leveraged on behalf of Vilas County business owners and entrepreneurs like Patrick and Robin – and will ensure the VCEDC is able to bring the broadband and Phelps projects to completion.
There’s still so much more to do to build a stronger Northwoods economy.
Local business owners are depending on us to have the resources they need when they contact us. Your donation makes it possible.
The broadband and redevelopment projects that are laying a foundation for Vilas County’s long term financial prosperity require time and attention. Your donation makes it possible for us to see them through and to undertake new ones!
Will you support the VCEDC as it works to support Vilas County business owners and entrepreneurs and build a stronger Northwoods economy?
When you give to the Vilas County EDC, you’re making an investment in the community you love. You’re supporting the businesses you rely on, providing improved quality of life for all Vilas County residents, growing the tax base, and setting the foundation for more development.
"In my opinion, the money that we Vilas County taxpayers invest in the VCEDC provides one of the best returns on investment that we get from the County." -John Hanson, Manitowish Waters Town Chair
I hope you’ll invest in Vilas County this year with a gift to the VCEDC.
